My name is Marnie Jones, and I work from home in Western Washington as a mother of three, a freelance writer and designer, and a contract editor. I have a bachelor's degree in English and have written for such magazines as Midwifery Today, Dog and Kennel, Vegetarian Family, Mules and More, Grow Northwest, the Brayer, the Harvard Summer Review, the Planet, and Venture. Animals are my passion, and I enjoy the friendship of three goats, two cats, two rabbits, an Australian shepherd, a chihuahua, a flock of hens, and an extraordinary mule.
This poetry project began when my mule, Fenway, needed medical attention. Raising $380 in just a few days, the poetry created a wave of positive interest and many requests for additional work. Much of the poetry produced during the "X-rays for Fenway" fund drive can be seen at www.commissionedpoetry.blogspot.com. I have loved helping Fenway with his poetry, and I've established this website to carry this service to a wider audience.
While most of my recent poetry has been in tribute to great animals, alive or remembered, I also enjoy writing on a variety of other subjects. In addition to honoring beloved pets, I write personalized poetry and songs for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and rites of passage. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, and I will gladly rewrite until the words speak to what's in your heart.
